The Denver Broncos revealed their captains for the 2018 season Monday with some familiar names among the latest crop of team leaders.
On defense, inside linebacker Todd Davis joins second-year captain Von Miller, while fullback Andy Janovic is named as one of the special teams captains for the first time along with kicker and second-year captain Brandon McManus.
The Broncos have two new captains on offense this season with starting quarterback Case Keenum an overwhelming choice in the vote by the players after making a big impact in his first few months in Denver, while ever-reliable center Matt Paradis is also a captain for the first time.
Of the three 2017 captains not resuming the role, only wide receiver Demaryius Thomas is still on the roster after the Broncos traded quarterback Trevor Siemian to Minnesota and Aqib Talib to the Los Angeles Rams.

“For me, it’s a huge honor for this great group of guys to see me as somebody that’s a leader and somebody that they’ll follow into battle,” Davis told the Denver Broncos website.
“That’s huge for me. Now I just have to step up, continue to be that guy that works hard every single day — day in and day out — and do my best for all of my guys in the locker room.”
The 2018 team captains will handle coin toss duties for the first time on Sunday when the Broncos welcome the Seattle Seahawks to Broncos Stadium at Mile High.
