With the Denver Broncos’ 53-man roster for the 2018 season now in, several players have changed their numbers from training camp and preseason.
As preannounced by the team, veteran cornerback Adam Jones wears 24. Jones, who signed with the team last month and wore #20 in the final preseason game against Arizona, becomes the first player to wear #24 number since future Hall of Famer Champ Bailey retired in 2013.
And Jones has the Broncos legend’s blessing to wear the number he has worn throughout his NFL career.
If Adam Jones jogs out to return a punt on Sept. 9, he’ll do so wearing a No. 24 jersey after receiving @champbailey‘s blessing.
“I’ve always looked up to Champ. He’s the reason I wore 24 in the first [place].”

Starting running back Royce Freeman changes from #37 to #28, while fellow rookie Phillip Lindsay makes the other highlighted move from #2 to #30, the number made famous in Broncos colors by Hall of Fame running back Terrell Davis.
Appreciate you, TD! Honored and humbled to wear your number. I will do everything I can to make you proud! 🔷🔶🔷🔶 https://t.co/2vU7yfm8OL

Josey Jewell has swapped #59 for #47, the number he wore during the early part of training camp before being forced to vacate it to accommodate a safety.
Finally, third-string quarterback Kevin Hogan — claimed off waivers on Sunday — will wear #9 last worn by punter Riley Dixon in 2017.
Of the practice squad members, rookie running back Dave Williams has changed from #36 to #33, last worn by running back De’Angelo Henderson before he was waived during roster cutdowns last week, while safety Trey Marshall has switched from #3 to #36, last worn by Williams during the preseason.
Offensive lineman Avery Gennesy, who spent the summer with Cleveland after being waived by Jacksonville in May, will wear #67.
