Vance Joseph speaks to media in week three of OTAs

Denver Broncos head coach impressed by rookie receivers, has no issues with vets missing practice

Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph spoke with the media after the first day of week three of organised team activities.

The good news for Broncos fans is that tight end Jake Butt finally looks “totally healthy”, but the coaches still don’t know what he can do on the field despite the lofty expectations.

Joseph was impressed with rookie wide receivers Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton, who took first-team reps with Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders absent for “personal matters”.

Von Miller was also absent, but Joseph has no issue with players not at UCHealth Training Center as OTAs are not mandatory and they “can’t take roll”.

On the injury front, the big news is that linebacker Shane Ray has a wrist sprain and did not practice. Joseph confirmed it is the same wrist Ray had three surgeries on last season.
