Shawn Drotár and TJ Carpenter look at what Denver Broncos fans can expect from quarterback Paxton Lynch when he makes his first start of the 2017 season in Oakland on Sunday.
At 3-7 with six games remaining, the Broncos are effectively out of the playoff picture, but have plenty time to see what their 2016 first-round pick can achieve with a clean slate and a new offensive coordinator in Bill Musgrave, who helped Raiders quarterback Derek Carr flourish.
At this stage, the focus is on evaluating Lynch. Wins are a bonus, even if they’d hit the Broncos’ current top five draft pick in 2018.
