Yesterday evening Matthew Stafford signed the biggest player contract in NFL history. The Detroit Lions quarterback is set to make $135 million over the next five years which includes a $50m dollars signing bonus, and $92 million in guaranteed money. Stafford has already earned $110m during his career.
There were twitter rumors today that the Denver Broncos were either making or taking calls about a trade with pro bowl safety TJ Ward.
The Broncos are deep at the safety position, and could save $4m if they are able to trade TJ for a high draft pick or a player that would fill a need.
Some are speculating that John Elway simply wants to dump TJ in order to free up cap space.
That’s Good Sports thinks cutting TJ Ward would be a really stupid thing to do.
