Brandon Perna reviews Broncos at Bears

Brandon Perna reviews the Broncos first preseason game.

The Denver Broncos defeated the Chicago Bears 24-17 in a 4th quarter rally lead by Broncos 3rd string QB Kyle Sloter who threw a 47 yard touchdown pass to Isaiah McKenzie, and a 41 yard TD run by running back De’Angel Henderson. It was against the Bears scrubs, but made for an exciting finish. The biggest story was the play of Bears QB Mitch Tribusky who looked like the best QB on the field for both teams. Mike Glennon the starter finished with a pick six and a 0.0 passer rating. Kyle Sloter for the Broncos had a perfect 158.3 Passer rating.

Defensively the Broncos look ready to go, taking the third play of the game for a pick six by Chris Harris Jr. Kasim Edebali caused pressure on that play. Trevor Siemian looked decent and Paxton Lynch looked slightly worse than Siemian. It will be an interesting few weeks in Denver as the #1 QB spot is still open. Vance Joseph and John Elway need to see a lot more from TS and PS next week in San Francisco.
